Czech architect and artist Jaroslav Otruba has influenced with his works the shape of many places in Czechoslovakia and a few places in other countries. He was a key figure of contemporary architecture. One of his best-known works is design of the iconic anodized aluminium tiles of the Prague metro A line. Time has proven the outstanding quality of this work that became symbol of the metro and of Prague as a whole.

ICON
The mix of the chosen material, proportions, colourfulness and type of surface design turned the aluminium tiles of the Prague A line metro into the op-art icon. The convex and concave form of the shaped aluminium creates a dimensional optical illusion that only the metro passengers may experience. Newly, you can live this experience inside your house.
FRAMES
Metroform, thanks to its treating of Jaroslav Otruba´s legacy, is able to produce the tiles from the same material, same technological procedures, and thus to prove the true experience with this work. Petr Novague, the current designer, has created a frame system in which the aluminium tiles are presented in interior in various sets. The basic element is Otruba´s tile square of 48 x 48 cm designed in two types of shapes, concave and convex ones, that are to be set in various numbers into the final picture.

AUTHENTICITY
We produce accuret reproductions of iconic shaped tiles from the Prague A line metro.
With a precise approach using the same material, an identical method of production, including a unique surface treatment, we achieved an artwork that the author designed already in the seventies of the last century. Each shaped piece is an original, marked with a unique code and confirmed by the signature of Jaroslav Otruba.
